Pastel Call Ducks
Like other types of Call Ducks, Pastel Call ducks have a very similar coloration to a full-size counterpart duck. In this case, they have Saxony duck coloration.
Duck hunters bred Pastel Call ducks originally. The birds would call in other ducks with their loud, booming voices. Small in size and easy to transport and care for, Pastel Call ducks and other call ducks were a functional and effective decoy for hunters. The first records of the ingenious breeding and use of Pastel Calls come from the Netherlands. However, their place of origin is disputed amongst experts. Many believe they originated in the Far East.
Now, Pastel Calls are primarily pets and as show ducks. Their small size, energetic disposition, and challenging breeding nature makes them very popular amongst bird enthusiasts and breeders alike.
If you are looking for a unique and exotic addition to your flock, or just as a bird to have around your property, consider a pet Pastel Call duckling.
