Easter Egger Chickens
Originating in Chile, Easter Egger Chickens were originally discovered by Araucana Indians, namesake ofåÊthe Araucana breed of chicken. The Easter Egger is similar to the Araucana and Ameraucana chicken. åÊThey have full beards under their beaks, opposed to just a tuft, and have a tail instead of being rumpless. This breed’s plumage varies and does not have pure color types.
Cackle breeds Easter Eggers with a full beard, a variety of feather colors and patterns, and a plethoraåÊof colorful eggs. The colors of these eggs vary from light blue, dark blue, green, and even brownish-pink. Their meat is delicious as well, as it has been noted to taste similar to quail.
