Cherry Egger Chickens
Cherry Egger Chickens are bred for their increased egg laying abilities and such that one can easily tell the gender of the birds immediately after hatching. This is useful for flock owners who want to maintain a specific rooster to hen ratio at all times.
Cherry Egger Chickens are developed using various red chicken breeds for the hen, but are always crossed with a Rhode Island Red Rooster or a New Hampshire Red Rooster. The Cherry Egger resembles the Rhode Island Red Rooster in both looks and disposition.
Cherry Egger Chicks are an excellent choice for many commercial egg laying operations for their substantial production as well as their ease of breeding and sexing. These breeds also mature rapidly and will begin laying much earlier than many other breeds. Cherry Eggers are excellent winter layers, producing year-round.
- Male Cherry Egger Chicks will be white.
- Female Cherry Egger Chicks will hatch either buff or red.
