Mallard Ducks are very self-reliant, good foragers and the hens make outstanding mothers. They lay a weekly egg and provide a very tender meat. Even though they are called Wild Flying Mallard Ducks, when raised on a farm they will more than likely stay at the farm pond. They are good for insect control, entertainment, show and make good pets when handled. They have a beautiful plumage and the green heads are very colorful. Mallard Ducks are very social so make sure you never have just the one!
