The Old English Game Fowl was developed from cockfighting birds after the United Kingdom outlawed the practice in 1850. The full sized standard varieties of the Old English Game Fowl are much more scarce than their Bantam counterparts.
The Standard Old English Game Fowl are thought to be one of the oldest breeds of land fowl, and they are most known for their gameness. The males of this breed are extremely territorial, and they will defend their ground vigorously against other invading roosters. We recommend keeping adult males separated. This breed is well known for making an excellent pet for children, due to its small size and docile demeanor.
