Swan Geese Pairs
The Swan Goose is a large and rare bird whose native breeding grounds are in Northern China, Mongolia, and Southeast Russia. We offer a domesticated version of this extremely rare bird and we sell them as Juvenile Pairs.
During the breeding season, Swan Geese enjoy living in mountain valleys near freshwater and grazing on various plant life, but the Swan Goose rarely swims. During the winter, Swan Geese typically graze in large fields, plains, or cultivated pastures. The breeding season generally starts around May and they typically breed as single pairs somewhere near marshes or wetlands.
The Swan Goose females will usually lay around 5 or 6 eggs, but sometimes have been known to lay up to 8. They use plants to make a shallow nest directly on the ground. The Swan Goose is a very old breed, and it's numbers in the wild and domestic populations have dwindled. These birds are an important part of history for domestic geese and can be a beautiful addition to your goose flock. |
