Silver Laced Polish Chicken

Polish Chickens are one of the most highly praised ornamental chicken breeds primarily used for exhibition, though they will produce up to 120 small white shelled eggs per year. The Polish is actually thought to have originally come from the Netherlands rather than Poland, but the name was given when the birds were first transported from Poland and initially introduced in England. This old breed is thought to have been domesticated in Eastern Europe since the early 16th Century.

The primary purpose of the Polish Chicken today is for show, revered for the birds' magnificent crest of feathers. This is caused by a large knob, or "protuberance" that protruding from the top of the head.

Of all ornamental and fancy breeds of chicken, the Polish is one of the most beautiful. It is bred in many different varieties or color, some rarer and more exotic than others. Because this bird has been typically used for show and it's fantastic features, the animal rarely goes broody. Depending on the variety of Polish, the bird can either be bearded or non-bearded, and the crest of the males differs from the females. The crest of the male is a bit more erratic and umbrella shaped, while the hens' crests are fluffy and full feathered.

These Silver Laced Polish Chickens will come as a mix of bearded and non-bearded and there is no guaranteed ratio of either.

They didn't make it to me.  The sorting post office in Columbia called  me and said they were all dead.   Have not heard anything more on re-shipment.

All dead March 29, 2016
Reviewer: Elsie Lodde from Fair Oaks, CA United States
I was so excited to hear from the post office my deliver was a day early, only to open it and find a ton of dead chicks.  Luckily efowl is going to give me credit, but I don't feel like I can trust to reorder them from Hoover.  Sad since Cackle doesn't sex the chicks. In total 25 of my 100 chicks ordered died, all the Silvers, half my white crested and buff (and they replaced my gold laced with all buffs).

Great Customer Service, Terrible Birds March 29, 2016
Reviewer: Gary Parks from Parks Family Farm, Frederick , OK United States
I gave 1-star just because of customer service and not the quality of the birds. I ordered  If there was an option for 0-Stars on quality of birds then that's what it would be. I ordered a total of 100 Polish chicks (25 of each breed), to start our homestead out on quality chicks. Well all arrived alive yes. Later that evening 3 Silvers dead, next day 5 more dead, an so on so on a few died everyday of all breeds, until today my last Silver has died out of 25. Tried to troubleshoot the problem but unable. All these chicks were brooded the same way as all my personal incubated chicks that have hatched. All my hatch have survived, So putting two and two together tells me something is wrong with the birds i purchased. Efowl tried to help troubleshoot but finally gave up as me other then saying the birds were week. Efowl did give partial credit trying to rectify, but the money difference was great, not including time, water, feed, shelter, and now I don't have any silver laced stock at all.
