Saxony DucksThe Saxony duck is heavy breed of German origin. The drake Saxony is colored similar to a Rouen with a more muted coloration. The lush greens of the are replaced by duller grays and lighter blacks.
Along with making unique and exotic pets, Saxony ducklings are raised for two key farming purposes - they are strong egg layers and also yield a high quality poultry meat.
While these birds are relatively large, their bodies are compact and streamlined.
