Penciled Indian Runner ducklings are bred primarily as egg layers and have even been known to outlay chickens, yielding 200-300 eggs per year. Do to their less substantial size, they are generally not used for meat ducks.

Pencilled Indian Runner is known as a profile breed and will not be overly large. Their strong legs and smooth running stride make them a highly competitive show bird. Furthermore, these birds will do great in your garden as their superb foraging abilities establish them as an excellent pest controller.
