We sell Juvenile Mandarin Duck Pairs that were hatched in the previous Spring season. These ducks will come as male/female pairs and in the appropriate environment will mate and lay eggs this upcoming spring, allowing you to enjoy breeding and raising this beautiful duck species on your own. The Mandarin Duck
is an unmistakable breed native to eastern Asia. The Mandarin drake rivals the North American native Wood Duck in its striking beauty and brilliantly colored plumage. Besides aesthetic beauty Mandarin Ducks share many other similarities to the Wood Duck; Mandarins prefer to nest off the ground in tree cavities or in man made duck houses and enjoy wetland environments.
A few striking trademarks of the Mandarin Duck during it's breeding plumage are the rich brown colored "sails" on the birds backside and the brown "whiskers" with cream colored streaks growing from the birds chin and cheek. The White Mandarin Duck is a variety similar to the White Wood Duck in that it is not a hybrid breed, but a variety of Mandarin Duck with an interesting lighter white coloration caused by a genetic gene mutation and selective bird breeding.
Mandarin Ducks are a medium sized bird that fly easily and should be clipped until they become acclimated, pinioned, or kept in a covered aviary if to be kept captivated. Mandarins are easy to care for, eating nuts, acorns, and seeds during the fall months and feeding on insects and grubs during the spring and summer seasons. They do not typically associate with other ducks, but do enjoy the company of their own breed during the winter months.
We ship our Juvenile Mandarin Ducks from October to April during the cooler months of the year. We recommend this hardy breed, along with Juvenile Wood Duck Pairs for all avian enthusiasts who are new to raising and breeding rare and exotic waterfowl.

These duck are safely and comfortably shipped in poultry boxes specialized for shipping adult birds. You will receive your ducks approximately 1-3 days after shipping. All adult birds are sold in Male/Female Pairs.
