These ornamental breeds have fluffy bunches of feathers underneath their beaks resembling called beard as well as fluffy bunches around their cheeks called muffs, almost resembling a chipmunk in the face. These breeds can be wonderfully odd looking, often looking like dignified chickens. Many of our Bearded Breeds and Muffed Breeds are also dual purpose breeds and good for quality meat and reliable egg laying, though most are kept for ornamental or show purposes.
We group the bearded and muffed chicken breeds together because almost all chickens with one of these unique characteristics has the other as well.
These chicks are safely and comfortably shipped hours after they hatch. You will receive your baby chicks when they are about 34-48 hours old.
