Austra White Chickens

The Austra White Chicken is a hybrid breed that is created by crossing a Black Australorp Rooster and a White Leghorn Hen. The resulting offspring is an superb white egg laying chicken breed that is a bit larger that the White Leghorn Hen, and has the calm demeanor of the champion brown egg laying Black Australorp

This breed of chicken really does exhibit the best traits of one the top heavy breed brown egg layers and the prolific white egg laying chicken. For those that desire a White Egg Layer, but want a larger bird that can be used for meat purposes or a calmer breed that will be good around children, the Austra White is an excellent choice. This hybrid will not disappoint.

The appearance of these chicks will be mostly white with black flecks.

2 years and still pumping out the eggs!!!! January 22, 2015
Reviewer: Arville Jeffrey from Jefferson , OH United States
I bought 25 straight run in 2013, I received 26. I lost two in the fist week. 9 rooster, 15 hen. Put 8 roosters in a pot. I kept the only yellow leg rooster. The 15 hen I have are laying 12 eggs a day average. Insane to say the least. Ive been giving them away. They are tough, they will roost in trees in low temperatures. Northeast Ohio. I have to put them in at knight with there heat lamps or they just stay outside. The meat is average not as good as most.

My Girls January 21, 2015

I've ordered from eFowl several times and have had great service and chicks.  The last order was March 2013 and my girls are still laying nice large eggs, although not as many as last year.  I purchased 20 chicks to be delivered in April 2015.  I'll start inviting the older girls to dinner around September when the young girls start laying.

Great birds July 16, 2014
Reviewer: Amy from Woodburn, KY United States
I have been ordered from efowl for the past few seasons now and try different varieties of layers with each order.  I am not disappointed in these at all!  Out of 5 varieties received in early March, one of my Austra White girls was the first to lay, at 18-1/2 weeks, although her egg is not true white, but a light beige (no matter to me).  Their coloring is fun, with each one having different black markings on their white bodies and the cute large flop-over comb like the leghorns.

The chick's are beautiful little things. I have  lost a couple of them due to a long ride but they are healthy birds.
